Lesvignes d'En Teste

For several times, we already hired a vacation home for our five persons family. Therefore we found a lot of positive points, but also some bad ones and we tried to learn from other ones mistakes. When we bought Les Vignes and when we decorated the house, we tried to think as a critical guest who was lodging here.

Nevertheless, we provided the farmhouse with an airconditioning system, because in the extreme hot summer, sleeping wasn't always easy. Now it has become an attraction on its own...

Because of that, there are 2 possibilities to rent the house:

• For families and groups with less/ equal than 6 persons, there is option 2, for you rent the ground floor and the first floor: three large sleeping rooms with six beds and one bathroom are more than enough to pass your holiday comfortably.
• If the group is larger or you go on holiday with two families or some friends are coming over, than you could take option 1: four large sleeping rooms and two bathrooms for maximal eight persons.

The original building dates from 1900. It was constructed as "a little building of the farm", built for the farmers son, who would take over the farm when the parents retired. In the past they cultivated wine, and that's the reason for the name. The walls are made of natural stone, and they keep the freshness in the house in the hot summers. The walls are the only originally pieces, because the rest has been completely renovated. Nevertheless, we installed airco, wich gives you an additional security for a fresh holiday, even in the hottest summer...

The living room, who is royal for eight persons with 70 m² surface, was adapted perfectly to the actually expectations and norms. On the ground floor you have a large living who measures 10 to 5 metres, with a nice open fire. The seats invite you to sink away while you are listening to a Cd or while you are watching a DVD trough the home theatre system. If you decide to dinner inside, then the deep brown Mahoney table seduces you to fine culinary creations...

These can be prepared in the provençal kitchen, wich has all the comfort, nevertheless his authentic looks.

Near the large fridge, there is a halogen cooker with 5 rings ( 90 cm large) and a fully equipped "oven". Of course there is a magnificent dishwasher available, besides the entire equipment of little kitchen machinery. (coffee machine, microwave, mixer, kitchen robot , fruit press, etc.)

There is really nothing missing.

Downstairs there is also a WC. So you arrive in the garage, were there is a second fridge (there is a lot to hold cold in such a heat) with a freezer. There is also a washing machine that you can use without any problem, the drying machine not, because ... there is enough sun in the garden to dry the clothes. Trough the garage you can enter the roof terrace (35 m²) were you can enjoy the rising sun in the morning. On the terrace you will find a garden ensemble of teak, wich is provided for eight persons., just like the two matching parasols, who protect you against the first sun beams.

If you prefer to dinner with view on the garden, you will find a covered terrace on the other side of the living area. There you have a garden table and enough chairs. Of course there is also a barbeque.

If you want to swim a bit after dinner, than you can explore the swimming pool. That one was organized in the entirely enclosed garden (1100m²) by a garden architect. Little children have their own small pool that isn't so deep because it's located at the terrace, and the adults can swim in the rest of the pool that was finished with rocks and some green. The swimming part is approximately 12 to 5 metres and has a depth of 1,80 meter on the deepest point. Between both parts there is a wooden "bridge", where you can lay in the sun as much as you want. Parasol and lying chairs are in stock. The swimming pool is filtered with plants and lava stone: no pain at the eyes from to much use of chloride...

Further in the garden, the kids can play as much as they want. The father and mother could in the mean time, with the "aperito" in their hand, the joy of the "jeux de boules" on their own "boulodrôme", or play a party badminton.  (There is even a set of petanque, badminton rackets and a volleyball available) If you want to ride a bike, don't hesitate to use one (normal or mountainbike-also kids-bikes and one kids-seat).

On the first floor there are three bedrooms. All windows are double glassed and provided with shutters, so the sun cannot penetrate the rooms, what guarantees a fresh night. Whenever temperature rises above bearable, you can climatise to the temperature you wish by the air-concitioner. To have a good sleep, there are also the large beds, who are provided with good mattresses. Each bedroom, who is for two persons, is provided with a large wardrobe, wich allows you to unpack your luggage comfortably . A safe with pin code gives you an opportunity to hide your precious things (There is no danger, because it is a safe environment, but you never know...).

The bathroom forms the pearl on the crown, and is provided with two lavabos, a WC, a shower, and a bath in the corner.

The attic houses one more bedroom and a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. There is even airco here...

The floors are floored with laminate, and the ceils with the beautiful balks. On the ground floor, the walls are finished with the typical Provencal crépi, with respect for the traditional way of building.

Just because of the finishing with wood there is no smoking allowed in this house, at all floors. Because of hygienical reasons there are no animals allowed. The house can't be used by more than eight persons, because it looses lots of comfort.

Sheets you have to provide yourself. There are synthetic quilts and pillows in stock. The heating, if needed, is by the airco, and downstairs we have an open fire. You are supposed to hold the house clean, because you will find it like that. There is an inventory and if there is something incorrect, you can always go to Nicole or Daniël, our neighbours. They will help you with a lot of practical things, in case you wouldn't find the answer to your question in one of the maps who are at your disposal. In one of those maps you will find a overview of all markets that you can visit in the area (more than 60) When you leave, the cleaning of the house is done by a professional firm (incluede in price). Attention: you are supposed to leave no trash and no dirty dishes, otherwise you have to pay a little bit more.
